Car history: |
1) This is a all numbers matching car. It has its 350/300 HP motor with the Muncie 4 speed. Runs and drives great. Very tight with no squeaks or rattles. The original color was Marlboro Maroon with Saddle interior (very sharp combination). The car was repainted White in the 90's by the previous owner and does have paint chips and touch ups as can be seen in the pics. The fiberglass body is near perfect, no visible cracks, cracking or spider webs at all. This car was stored since 2007 due to a death of the husband. The car was stored in a clean dry garage for 10 years, but it does have surface rust on the underside metal as can be seen in the pics, it is only surface rust. Car is rock solid. This car was owned by the previous people since the late 70's and was well taken care of but we all know sitting isn't good for any car. The interior is overall in very nice shape, no rips in seats or anything. Look at pics please. I had the tank drained, cleaned out all lines, new fuel pump, battery, filters, complete tune up and fluids changed before we fired it. Fired instantly and she runs great (has small exhaust leak in the tailpipe). This car drives awesome, nice and tight with no squeaks or rattles, tons of power, shifts smooth, clutch is right there. It does need some tinkering though from sitting. The headlight doors don't open and wiper door doesn't open either (both are vacuum actuated). Looks like some of the vacuum lines are loosing vacuum from small cracks or dry rotting (the entire replacement vacuum line kit is less than $100) we pressure tested the can and actuators and they seem fine. The lights do work, you can see them come on. I also noticed the dash blinker indicators light when you hit the brakes, seems like a bad ground or something, so I would say it will need some minor electrical checking too. Bottom line, this is a numbers matching, 4 speed 1970 Vette that's all there and needs some tinkering. Probably would do a paint job in the original Marlboro Maroon at some time too, but can drive and enjoy it like it is. These 70's are climbing in value like crazy. Do the work and you'll have a great investment. I have a Maine transferrable registration and Bill of Sale. No titles issued for classic cars of this vintage. Sold for $14,500 on July 28, 2017. |
